Ourika Valley, Marrakech

At about 34km southeast of Marrakech (slightly less than an hour and a half drive) lies the magnificent Ourika Valley, the calming country side out of the hustle bustle Marrakech city. This one-day trip could possibly be a great nature break away through the cascade trekking trails to reach all the seven waterfalls of Setti Fatma. Unfortunately my 2yo son couldn’t come with us as there are lots of climbing and the narrow trails may pose some dangers for my wriggly toddler. My 6yo son though had to use some help from the experienced guide for some climbs as some of the rocks tend to be slippery. Lesson learned – proper trekking attire required and that includes trekking shoes! Although these tour guides would tell you ‘it’s ok’, I am telling you IT IS NOT! The cascade was gorgeous but the climb to get there was the highlight of this trip.
